Hello there
I’m Gummi. A UI, UX and motion designer operating from Reykjavík, Iceland. I’ve always had the need to create and have creative solutions for problems. I’d like to think I’m someone who’s hand follows their mind. If I think of something, I believe there is a way to implement and materialise the thought.
If something ignites a spark in me, I can absolutely grab it by the horns and create great things. The trick is to find a spark in mundane items as well as in obvious excitement.
A jack of all trades
Fairly frequently I get asked: “Is there something you can’t do?” The answer is yes, of course. But I think growing up on a farm helped foster a kind of self preservation. When something broke, you had to adapt and readjust. Sometimes by fixing things, sometimes by improvising other solutions. I carry this mentality with me to this day. I like finding new approaches and finding a thread to follow when presented with a challenge.
This has helped with a lot of things in digital designing and animation.
